So, let's get into the wild ride that is "Obsession." The story starts with Bear Bailey, who secretly loves his friend Nikki Freeman. They work at a music store with their friends, Ian and Sarah. One night, Bear comes home to find his cat, Sandy, dead after eating oxycodone. Upset, Bear goes to a crystal shop to buy Nikki a tiger's eye necklace, but instead, he buys her a "One Wish Willow," a toy that supposedly grants one wish per person when broken.
Later, after hanging out, Nikki asks Bear if he likes her, and he nervously says no. Frustrated with himself, Bear breaks the One Wish Willow, wishing that Nikki loved him more than anyone in the world. Immediately, Nikki reappears and asks to stay at Bear's house, telling him her estranged father is dying of cancer. In bed, she kisses him, but then suddenly screams and pulls back.
The next morning, Nikki creates a memorial for Sandy. She later explains her strange behavior was due to MDMA, then confesses she has mutual feelings for Bear, and they start happily dating. But things get weird quickly. Ian tells Bear that Nikki had told Sarah she saw Bear as her "little brother" just before they started dating, and that she also lied about her father. During a date, Bear questions Nikki about her father's cancer, and she reacts with sudden anger. That night, Bear wakes up to Nikki watching him sleep, crying hysterically and accusing him of not loving her. The next day, Bear finds Nikki has taped his door shut to keep him home. Then he makes a horrifying discovery: the sandwich Nikki made for him was made using Sandy's remains.

Later, Sarah texts Bear to meet at the park. As Bear tries to leave, a lucid Nikki speaks, claiming her obsessive personality is asleep, and begs Bear to kill her. At the park, Sarah reveals that Ian and Nikki had been casually hooking up for two years and suggests Nikki is using Bear to get back at Ian. Sarah then hints that she’s attracted to Bear. Suddenly, Nikki bursts through the car window and repeatedly slams Sarah's head into a brick, killing her. She calmly tells Bear to go home while she disposes of the body.
Desperate, Bear buys all the remaining One Wish Willows from the shop to reverse his wish, but he can't break any of them. He explains everything to Ian and begs him to undo his wish. Ian, not believing him, sarcastically wishes for a billion dollars instead, and cash instantly rains from the ceiling. Bear rushes home with the very last One Wish Willow, hoping to get Nikki to reverse his wish. There, he finds Sarah's mutilated corpse. Nikki, now dressed like Sarah, threatens Bear and herself with a gun. Ian arrives and is immediately shot dead by Nikki. Bear locks himself in the bathroom, planning to shoot himself. He can't go through with it, so he takes the oxycodone instead. But he changes his mind and tries to vomit it out just as Nikki breaks the last One Wish Willow. Under her wish's influence, Bear emerges from the bathroom and kisses Nikki before dying from the overdose. Heartbroken, Nikki prepares to shoot herself. However, Bear's death causes her to regain control of herself just before she pulls the trigger. Horrified by the carnage around her, Nikki wails hysterically, left alone with the devastating consequences of Bear's wish.
