The story actually starts way back on December 30, 1999, when India's External Affairs Minister Devavrat Kapoor and IB Director Ajay Sanyal are negotiating with a terrorist named Zahoor Mistry. They're trying to get airline passengers released from Kandahar, offering to free Mistry's brother and pay a hefty ransom. Initially, the R&AW (India's external intelligence agency) isn't keen on Sanyal's idea to infiltrate terrorist networks in Pakistan. But after the devastating 2001 Indian Parliament attack, Kapoor gives Sanyal the green light for his secret "Operation Dhurandhar."

This is where our main man, agent Hamza Ali Mazari, steps in. He's sent into Pakistan through the Torkham border crossing in Afghanistan. He lands in Lyari, a suburb of Karachi, and quickly makes friends with a juice-shop owner named Mohammed Aalam, even moving in with him. Hamza starts working as a waiter, all the while studying the local gang scene. Being a Baloch, he wisely aligns himself with the powerful gangster Rehman Dakait and his cousin and deputy, Uzair Baloch.

Things heat up when Hamza learns that a rival Pathan gang, led by Rehman's estranged father, Babu Dakait, is planning to kill Rehman's eldest son, Naieem Baloch. Babu's men attack a wedding where Naieem and his younger brother Faizal are present. Hamza manages to save Faizal, but sadly, Naieem is killed. At the hospital, Rehman and Uzair notice Hamza's sharp firearm skills and recruit him into their inner circle. Jameel Jamali, a politician from the Pakistan Awami Party (PAP), tries to convince Uzair not to retaliate before the Lyari election, but Hamza, ever the provocateur, pushes for revenge. Rehman's gang then massacres Babu's men, and Rehman personally kills his father with a weighing stone, declaring Baloch dominance over Lyari.

As Hamza gets deeper, he meets Jameel's daughter Yalina at a PAP rally and they start a relationship. Rehman is introduced to Major Iqbal of the ISI by the Khanani brothers, businessmen who are nudging Rehman into politics. Iqbal requests weapons and ammunition. Hamza quickly uncovers Iqbal's counterfeit-currency operation and even witnesses him brutally torturing an Indian spy. He relays all this crucial info to Aalam, who passes it on to Sanyal, making the IB suspect that Pakistan has Indian currency plates. While transporting weapons, Hamza uncovers plans for a major terror attack on India and immediately alerts the IB.

Rehman's growing alliance with the Khananis starts to sideline Jameel politically. With Major Iqbal's backing, Rehman dives into politics, forming his own party, the People's Aman Committee, and allying with Aquib Ali Zarwari's PAP. In response, Jameel recruits a suspended Superintendent of Police, Chaudhary Aslam, to eliminate Rehman, leading to the formation of the Lyari Task Force (LTF). Aslam manages to arrest Rehman during a weapons run. But Hamza has a counter-move: he sends Jameel a video, recorded by Yalina, that exposes Jameel's secret collusion with Aslam and another gangster, Arshad Pappu. When Aslam refuses to release Rehman, Hamza forces compliance by livestreaming himself and Uzair torturing captured LTF officers. Talk about extreme measures!

Despite all of Hamza's intelligence, the horrific 26/11 Mumbai terror attack still occurs. Traumatized, Hamza and Aalam vow to dismantle Pakistan's terror infrastructure. Hamza then secretly proposes to Jameel: by marrying Yalina, he'll rule Lyari while giving Jameel lasting political influence. He then conspires with Jameel and Aslam to eliminate Rehman. At Hamza and Yalina's wedding, Major Iqbal requests another weapons shipment. Hamza cleverly uses Rehman's drunkenness to schedule the delivery to coincide with another engagement, setting up a perfect ambush. On the day of delivery, Hamza sends Uzair to the shipment site while driving Rehman straight into Aslam's trap. Rehman realizes the betrayal mid-journey, leading to a violent struggle and a car crash. Hamza escapes, kills two of Rehman's henchmen, and helps Aslam subdue Rehman, who later dies from his injuries in the hospital.

And here's the big reveal: Hamza Ali Mazari's real identity is Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an Indian death-row inmate who was turned into a covert operative by Ajay Sanyal.
