What Happens (Spoilers)

The story begins at Visakhapatnam harbour, where Simon runs a huge gold and luxury watch trafficking business called "Kingpin Logistics" with his right-hand man, Dayalan, or "Dayal." Simon’s son, Arjun, wants nothing to do with his father's illegal work and instead becomes a customs officer. Things get serious when Palanisamy, an undercover police officer pretending to be a coolie, is killed by Dayal. Dayal then offers a big reward – ₹2 crore – to anyone who can expose another undercover officer in their gang.

Meanwhile, in Chennai, Devaraj, or "Deva," manages a strict boarding house. He hears about his friend Rajasekhar's death and goes to the funeral, but Rajasekhar's daughter, Preethi, drives him away. Later, a drunken friend, Ravi, admits that he and Rajasekhar messed up their lives, which makes Deva suspicious. The autopsy says Rajasekhar died of a heart attack, but Deva finds clues of chest trauma. Ravi then reveals that Rajasekhar, to pay for his daughters' education, had invented an electric chair for cremating animal remains. When his patent was rejected because it could be misused, Simon forced him to use it to dispose of murder victims. Dayal tries to kidnap Preethi, as she knows how to operate the chair, but Deva steps in and joins the operation, helping Preethi use the chair. Deva tells Preethi to quit her job, but she can't because she needs to support her sisters.

Eventually, Simon tells Deva to bury Dayal, claiming Dayal was an undercover cop. But they find Dayal alive, and he reveals his true identity, threatening Preethi. Simon then shows Deva a video of Dayal killing Rajasekhar. Dayal later calls Deva from Nellore, demanding he follow orders and revealing he's holding Preethi hostage. Following Dayal's instructions, Deva gets into a harbour vault and discovers a heart-trafficking ring targeting coolies from someone named Saravanan. Deva is ordered to kill Arjun, but he spares him and tells him to run away with his lover on a boat. Dayal gets back at Deva by threatening Preethi on a rooftop, but Deva shocks him by revealing Dayal's real name, Dilip, and his past as a Police Constable in Thrissur, Kerala.

Deva then captures Dayal's wife, Kalyani, who is actually posing as Arjun's lover, and demands Preethi's release. Kalyani manages to free herself, kills Ravi, and reveals that she and Dayal were undercover partners. She orders Dayal to go after Preethi, who escapes on a train but unknowingly calls Deva using a code from Rajasekhar, revealing she is Deva's daughter. Deva's aide dies protecting Preethi from Dayal, who survives. Kalyani tells Dayal to go to her car, where he finds Arjun. Dayal calls Simon, reveals he's alive, and kills Arjun right in front of him. Simon goes to Chennai and sends his men to Deva's mansion to kill Deva and Preethi's sisters, but Deva, with the help of his lieutenant Kaleesha and 18 coolies, kills Simon’s men. In Chennai, Kalyani captures Preethi but is then kidnapped by Simon's men. Simon kills Kalyani in front of Dayal and then takes Preethi to harvest her heart.

Deva storms the ship, revealing his past from 30 years ago: he was a coolie union leader in Mandwa, a North Indian town, fighting against exploitation by Simon's father, Xavier, and his partner, Kakkar. When Xavier and Kakkar tried to kill 100 coolies to hide their drug smuggling, Deva and Kaleesha led a revolt, killing Xavier, but 70 coolies died. A young Simon tried to see his father die, but his mother stopped him, making it a traumatic memory. Deva tells Simon that Preethi is his daughter, then fights and kills Simon, and the coolies destroy the ship. Later, Deva, Kaleesha, Preethi, and her sisters are kidnapped and taken to a desert by a global syndicate leader named Dahaa, who turns out to be Kakkar's son. Dahaa recognizes Deva and offers him a place as his right-hand man; Deva agrees, but only if his coolies are spared. Dayal is eventually caught and buried alive. Preethi and her sisters go abroad, forgiving Deva without knowing he is her father, calling him "uncle" in her farewell.
