Meanwhile, in Kansas City, an NBC meteorologist named Margaret Fairchild is getting ready for her day when a cardinal flies right into her home. This strange event triggers something extraordinary in Margaret: she suddenly gains psychic abilities. She can now intuit people's thoughts and, even more remarkably, speak in languages she's never learned before. During a live weather broadcast, Margaret unexpectedly starts speaking in an unknown language. This footage, as you'd expect, goes totally viral and quickly catches the attention of Wardex, who immediately recognize the language as extraterrestrial. After being examined at a hospital, Margaret finds herself fleeing from Wardex agents who are cleverly disguised as FBI officers.

Daniel explains everything to Jane: Wardex has been secretly experimenting on captured extraterrestrials and reverse-engineering their technology. Daniel is actually part of a bigger plot to reveal this shocking truth to the world. When he sees the viral clip of Margaret speaking the alien language, he instantly understands what she said. Finally, Margaret and Daniel connect with Hugo Wakefield, who leads a team of former Wardex employees, all dedicated to disclosing evidence of extraterrestrials to the world. To help Margaret, Hugo's team has reconstructed her childhood home to help her recover suppressed memories. It's revealed that when they were ten years old, both Margaret and Daniel were simultaneously abducted by extraterrestrials and given complementary powers. The aliens, it turns out, have been disguising themselves as harmless animals to observe them all this time.

Hugo's team, along with Margaret and Daniel, bravely enter Margaret's television station, ready to broadcast the truth to the entire world. The impending nuclear war seems to halt in its tracks. To top it all off, Hugo brings one of the extraterrestrials he secretly got out of Wardex into the studio. The extraterrestrial whispers something to Daniel, who then relays the message to Margaret. She turns back to the camera and repeats the message, starting with the powerful word, "Listen."
